So today was our big day, the day we say goodbye and goodluck to all. I will sure miss all my SuperStars. I can't believe most of you will be going to Kindergarten. I just want to say everyone did wonderful in our program I am proud to call you my students. I hope to hear from each one of you in the future. Preschool Graduation Rehersal

I can't believe the end of the year is just so near. Today we dressed the kids up in their gowns and practiced the graduation program. I do have to say I am a little nervous about how they are going to do. But we will just have to see on Wednesday. Today I sent home each of the childrens program parts. They are all very short and should be easy for them to remember. Please practice these parts with them and remind them how they must talk loudly so everyone can hear them. I also wanted to remind you if you wanted to bring a treat to share great if not then no biggie! And each child must bring 12 stickers to sign their yearbook with. Thank you for all your cooperation I am looking forward to a great program to end a GREAT Year!

We also celebrated Emma's summertime birthday today and she brought us all The most delicious cupcakes ever. I should have taken a photo they were adorable. Ella you are adorable and I have just loved having you in my class.

Letter Z

So today we learned about Zippy Zebra and how when a Zebra runs they run in a zig zag and they say ZEEE! It was fun to watch all the kids run around the room like a herd of zebras making that sound. We also celebrated Emele's summertime birthday today. Emele you are such a cute little girl with so much spunk. I have loved watching your cute little personality everyday you have come to class. I hope you had a great preschool birthday!

Mothers

Today we decided to talk about our mothers instead of Rock Gardens. So we made a little mothers day surprise and then we learned about the letter Yy. The letter Yy says so many sounds but we are just focusing on the Y (yellow)sound. Remember to check out your kids ABC books to see what they have been learning in class. Treg was our star student and even though he doesn't make it to class very often he sure loves his classmates when he does come. Treg you are a delight and I will miss you when you are in Kindergarten next year.

Lemon Pie

Yes, I try to do a cooking lesson at the end of each month and this month we learned alittle about the flavor of lemons and cooking with them. So we naturally made lemon pie. However, I decided to have each child make their own mini pie and it was a complete success. Sage was our star student and she brought some delicious creamies to share with the class. She also brought some books for show and tell and she didn't just show them she read them to the class. I am so amazed at this little girls reading abilities. Thanks super stars for such a wonderful day.

Lemons

We learned that lemons grow on lemon trees that are about 15 ft. Tall. In ideal conditions you can harvest lemons all year round. The lemons are cut from the tree when they are green and then put in a dark cool room and they ripen to the brilliant yellow that they are. So much fun stuff to learn about lemons. Today we celebrated Malyssa's birthday since her birthday is in May. Malyssa you are such a delight to have in class. You are so responsible and quick to learn and listen. I know you will do wonderful in Kindergarten good luck.

Sea Stars

A sea star use to be called a starfish. But since it is not actually a fish they have renamed it to the sea star... I know confusing, but sea stars usually have 5 arms but can sometimes have more even up to 40 arms. On the bottom of their arms are suction cups that help them move and taste things. They have eyes on the end of each arm (which I never knew) but they can only see light and dark with those eyes. Ella was our star student today and since we were learning about the letter Uu she brought an umbrella and a unicorn so here is a photo of her and her sea star. However, she didn't seem to excited to show them to the class. We love you Ella and adore your cute personality.

Whales

Did you know the heart of a whale is the size of a small car? That is one of the interesting facts we learned about whales today. We are also learning about the letter Uu and how Uncle Uh loves to play football and the ball hits him in the stomach he doubles over and says Uhh. Justin was our star student and he did an awesome job with the letter Uu show and tell. He brought a Utah Utes sweatshirt, a picture of the state of Utah, he brought a Ultrasaurus dinosaur, and he also brought a bear book which he was sure to tell me did not start with the letter U but he just really wanted to show it to us. Thanks Justin for sharing.

Easter Party

I just have to say I love having parties in our class. I know the kids are not learning their ABC's and Shapes on these days. However, they do learn to follow directions and play games with other children. And even how to be a good sport and help their friends. These are the days that we all bond a little tighter. We had so much fun painting our chicks, finding easter eggs, coloring, frosting our cookies and decorating them. I just want to tell all you special kids Happy Easter I hope you have a great weekend.

Kayden thank you for your wonderful well thought out show and tell of Watermelon, Water, Watch, and Waffle. We all loved your treats as well thank you for sharing and thank you for being soooo good in class.

Fish in the Ocean

I just love the ocean I have been scuba diving and it is like a whole different world under there. So when I am teaching the class about the ocean I can't help but get all excited about it. Today we had a fun time as we found the fish hiding in our classroom and then we created clown fish out of them. Addie was our star student and she brought Nemo Fruit Snacks to share with everyone. I can't tell you how excited the kids were as they were eating those snacks. Thanks Addie for coming to class and sharing your darling smile.

Ocean Salt

In class we are starting a new section on oceans and the animals that live in it. We learned today about salt and how the ocean water is filled with salt. We did an experiment and learned that an egg will float in salt water but not in clear water. Then we are doing another one where we put salt water in a pan and we will observe it as the water evaporates, what will happen? Hayley was our star student so we celebrated her birthday that was on April 1st. Hayley is such a delight to have in our class, she is always listening and trying her best in everything she does. Maggie Moo's

So our fieldtrip this month was to Maggie Moo's and I must say it was one of the best fieldtrips I have ever been on. To me it felt more like one big party with all the help of the mothers. I could relax a little and not count to 11 constantly making sure I have not lost a child. We had fun squeezing into the refridgerator and making a batch of ice-cream. Cameron was our star student so he was able to push the button on the ice-cream maker. So much fun but as I am sure you all know our favorite part was the blue and pink ice-cream. Their was only 1 child who got anything other than that and it was vanilla. So thanks again to all you wonderful mothers who made this trip so much fun.

Blueberries Count

We are still learning about blueberries and what kind of animals love to pick and eat the blueberries off the bushes. So we played a game where we picked the blueberries off the bush and filled our baskets. The kids played so well taking turns and being good sports about winning. Landon was our star student and he brought delicious blueberry muffins to share. Thank you Landon for being so much fun in our class. You always come to class with a smile on your face, I LOVE THAT!

Today we were learning about the letter Bb. And yes Blueberries start with the letter Bb. We learned how they grow on bushes and most berries are loved by many children and bears. Emele was our star student and she brought a special necklace that was given to her by her grandma along with a ghost and jewel mirror given to her from her sis. Thanks Emele for bringing those delicious blueberry muffins that was my favorite part of class. Keep smiling cutie.

Chirping Birds

During the winter time we begin to miss the chirping of the birds outside our windows. Then in the spring time we begin to hear little sounds of birds to verify it is getting warmer. Birds make their nests out of mud, sticks, grass, hair all sorts of soft and wonderful ingredients. We made some cute birds with nests today in school then we went outside to fill our nest with real nest items. Sage was our star student and it was great because we celebrated her birthday. On Sunday she will be turning 5. How fun is that. Sage we love you and I especially love your happy spirit you bring to class. Happy Birthday!

St. Patricks Day

I wish you all could have seen the look on those kids faces, mine included. When we walked in the preschool room to see what a mess those silly, tricky, litte lepercans made in our preschool classroom. We had fun talking about St. Patricks Day and all the crazy things that can happen on a day like today. Treg was our star student and we also celebrated his birthday which was on Sunday. He doesn't come to this class very often because of limited space and attention on his part. But when he does come everyone in the class makes him feel welcome. Baa Baa Sheep

In the springtime the shepards (who are the people who take care of the sheep) sheer or cut off all the fur or wool on the sheep. Then they use this wool to make things like sweaters, socks, mittens, scarfs. There are all sorts of things we use the wool for. We love to see the baby lambs in the spring they are so cute and full of life. Hayley was our star student and today she brought a variety of cookies. Which some of the kids had their hearts broken over. But in the end it was all good. Thank you Hayley for bringing your cute little smile with you to class every day. We love having you in our class.

Ducks in the Pond

Ducks are another thing that happen in the springtime. We begin to see new baby ducklings around the pond. Ducks that waddle and go quack quack. We read a fun book about what happens in the pond and all the changes that happen in the spring. Malyssa was our Star Student and she brought us her Kindergarten registration, a key, and a kitten for show and tell. Then for snack she brought us a kiwi and kissables. I bet you figured out by now we are learning the letter Kk in our class. Some of the kids were very hesitant to try the kiwi but everyone did and they all ended up saying it was super yummy.

Springtime

Today we started a whole new theme for the month. We are talking about Springtime and some of the things that happen in the springtime. We learned animals come out of hibernation and the trees and flowers wake up. We also learned that the weather can be a little crazy in the Spring. It can blow, snow, rain and shine the sun all in one day sometimes. One of my favorite things to do in the crazy wind is to fly a kite. So we all made kites to take home and fly whenever we like. Ella was our star student and she brought the cutest ever cookies. And I must say they were sure yummy.

Dr. Seuss Day

Yesterday in 1904 Dr. Seuss was born in Massachusetts, then he went on to become a favorite author of many children around the world. We celebrated Dr. Seuss day by bringing our favorite Dr. Seuss books and wrapping up in blankets and beanbags to enjoy the books. We had a great time reading many of the different silly books he wrote. Kayden was our star student and he brought Valentines and a Vehicle for show and tell. Then he brought a Variety of cookie packages to share with the kids. Kayden you are such a sweetie, I love the way you are branching out more and more to each of the kids in our class.

Moon Pies

Today was our cooking lesson since it was the last day of the theme. We decided to make moon pies since that is what the coal miners use to pack for their dads as a treat so they wouldn't melt like icecream or get smooshed like cake. Most of the kids decided to take theirs home since they just filled up on birthday cupcakes from Justin. It was Justin's birthday today so after we enjoyed his random show and tells, we sang Happy Birthday to him. We crowned him with the birthday crown and let him choose a birthday treasure. Thanks Justin for being in our class and always coming with a smile to brighten our worlds.

Cow jumped over the Moon

The theme was the cow jumped over the moon today. We did a puzzle that helped teach us this cute rhyme. Then we painted our moon and started our art project. Addie was our star student today and she brought her Boo all the way from Disneyland, Hanah Montana Poster, and her harmonica. Addie is such a great sport to always go with the flow of the class. Thank you Addie for helping with the Star Student today. We hope Kayden gets better soon.

Outer Space

We are still learning about Outerspace and the letter O. Today we made a book to take home and read to our parents about what we see through our bedroom windows. I hope you all take the time to have your children read this book to you. We are also learning what an Author is and they were all excited to be the Author of their books. We sure love having you around Cameron you are always such a good example and you work your hardest.

Letter Oo

Landon was our star student today and he brought a real telescope. Then he explained how when you look through the telescope you can see the moon and stars. Then he brought a bag full of Orange Juice, Starburst, Starlight mints, Orbit gum, and Milky ways. What a fun way for us to explore the letter Oo and Outer Space. Valentine's Day Party

I just love Valentines Day I love to express to those I love just how much I love them. We had so much fun today in class as we celebrated Valentines day with a fun Martian Hat Project, Games, Valentine Exchange, Cookie Decorating, and Valentine Stories. Sage and Addie were not feeling well which was so sad because they usually light up the place with their smiles and excitement. I hope all the kids had a great time and may everyone enjoy the long weekend.

Emele was our star student and she brought some really cute little cupcakes for snack. The kids loved them and I thought the size was just perfect for those kiddos. Emele you are such a silly goose. I love having you in class with us, you have the cutest little spunky personality.

Today in class we were talking about the letter Nn and also the ways we show affection. Hayley was our star student and it was so cute to see her bring necklaces to class for our snack of the day. Of course they were candy necklaces and she handed them out with the biggest smile ever. We learned you can show love by giving something, making something, hugs & kisses, obeying, helping there are lots of ways to show someone we love them.

Earth Colors

Today we studied our earth and the colors that apears to be from space. We had a great time as we painted our own versions of our world on a paper plate. Then the kids just loved exploring the world with Miss Kristi's globe. Sage was our star student and I just have to say she is a complete delight to have in our class. Sage always has a smile on her face and happiness in her heart. We love you Sage and we are so thankful to have you in our class. The kids loved the fruit snacks you brought them.

Outer Space

Today was the first day of class for the new month. We are so excited to start learning about our great outer space. This is a great time for parents to start talking with your children about outer space. Explore the stars, moon, and planets. We talked about telescopes and how they are used to see the moon and stars better. So we can study them and learn more about our Solar System. Malyssa was our star student and even though I forgot my camera to take a photo. I was really impressed with her Gg letter show and tell. She brought a game, grapes, and a photo of her grandparents. Then she brought granola bars to share with the class. Thanks Malyssa for being so fun to have in class.

Dinosaur Museum Fieldtrip

I can't tell you how excited everyone was to go on the fieldtrip to the Dinosaur Museum. I love it because I just love watching the kids be thrilled about learning. They learn in such a fun way at the museum all hands on and in the middle of it. Some of the kids loved playing in the sand while others wouldn't touch it. Some just would rather draw and use their imaginations in that way. Either way I think they all found something they loved.

Ella was our star student today and she brought Rylie's (her big sister) Dog, a Little Pony and Belle. She also brought each child 2 suckers. Ella you are so stinking cute I just love your quiet yet strong personality. You just keep smiling!

Dinosaurs

So we were learning about the letter Hh and dinosaurs today. After our dinosaur discussion we made some really cute dinosaur puppets. I was so impressed with the kids and how they all tried their very best to color and cut them out alone. Justin was our star student today and he brought a Hat, Horse, and super hero cupcakes. Justin I love the way that you always remind me when I forget something. You have a great mind that is very cleaver. I know I always have backup when you are there. Thank you.

In My Pocket

We are still talking about textures. So today we talked about our pockets and how some pockets can be itchy and some can be soft. But most importantly pockets hold things for us, except when we have a hole in our pocket then it just loses things for us. So we made pockets that the kids can take home to play the pocket game with their families. To play the game you start with one person and they say "my pocket has a _________ in it" then the next person says the first thing and then adds on another thing. Then you continue until someone messes up then you start over. We didn't have time to play in class but I am sure you will all enjoy it. Today we celebrated Kayden's 5th Birthday. He was so excited to share Indiana Jones Cupcakes with all his preschool friends. We sang happy birthday and made sure he felt really special. Kayden you are so amazing we love having you in class with us.

I have a dream!

Martin Luther King Jr.s birthday is celebrated on Monday and many parents will have the day off and the schools are closed. So I thought I would take this opportunity to teach the children a little about this holiday. So we took a little fieldtrip upstairs to view a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. on my computer. Then we talked about how he had a dream that we could all be friends. We made clouds with our own dreams on the back. I was really impressed with some of the kids dreams. Cameron was our star student and he brought a Football, Fishing Game, and a picture of his family. Then he brought a Footlong fruit for each of the kids. Thank you Cameron for always doing your best you are a Wonderful student!

Counting Cookies

Today we were learning about the letter Ff and what sound it makes. We are also still on our textures chapter and made a plate of different textured cookies to show our families. Landon was our star student and he brought a football and a farmbook for show and tell. Then he brought 2 cookies for each of the students. Landon you are such a silly kid I just love your easy going personality. You are one fun student to teach. Right before we went home we went on a frog hunt and each child got to find a frog to take home. Remember kids to show your parents you ABC books and the letters you are learning in class.

Back to School

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas vacation. I did as well, however, I sure missed my special SuperStar Preschool friends. This month we are going to be learning about textures and dinosaurs. Then we will take a fieldtrip to the dinosaur museum which will be lots of fun. So today we were learning about scratchy sheep. Everyone looked confused because sheep should be soft right? Well I brought down a wool sweater and let them all have turns feeling how really scratchy it was. Then we made our scratchy sheep with sand on them. The real fun came when Miss Kristi said they were all free to play in the leftover sand. WOW! Now there is some real good fun that everyone just loved. Thanks Emele for bringing the yummy Devil Cookies. Your a real sweet girl with big personality, we LOVE IT! Thanks for always being so good in class.

Polar Express Party

So today was the Polar Express Christmas Party. The kids had fun wearing the P.J.s I gave them for Christmas. Then we set up the room to be a train and let the kids watch The Polar Express. I asked them to use their imagination to imagine them being on the real Polar Express. It was fun when it came to the dancing parts and the Hot Chocolate, cookies and popcorn.At the end of the train ride the kids each got to open their gifts from their preschool friends. Addie was the first to go since she was the Star Student. Addie what a wonderful snack you brought us, If I had it all togther we could have used them with our hot chocolate. I know your mom was thinking and I just spaced it, sorry. Addie congratulations on your baby sister. We are all so excited for you.Thank you parents for helping me pull this off. And thank you to you sweet parents that sent gifts for me. That was very thoughtful, but unnecessary. Your gift of letting me teach your child is more then enough. Merry Christmas to all. We will see you all January 6th!

Christmas Nativity

Today was a fun day as we learned about the letter Jj. Malyssa was so good to bring us jingle bell treats, and jelly beans. Then she brought jewels, jingle bells, and jeans to show and tell. Thank you Malyssa for sharing the letter Jj with us. Then we wrapped our gifts and headed upstairs to do the nativity play. Malyssa was the wiseman, Sage was Mary, Cameron was Joseph, Treg was the donkey, Landon was the innkeeper, Ella was the angel, Addie, Kayden and Justin wanted to be Shepards. It was really special to go through what happened when Jesus was born. The kids all did such a good job they got a bubblegum out of the bubblegum machine. I hope you parents don't mind. Also please remember for Thursday each child that wants to ride the polar express needs to bring their ticket, and wear their Christmas gift from Miss. Kristi. Don't forget your friend gift. Giving at Christmas time!

Today we learned about giving gifts. I asked each of the kids to earn just one dollar and bring it to class. Then in class each of the students was asked to share how they earned their dollar and what they want to do with that dollar. Each of the kids said they wanted to buy books for someone who needed them. Then we wrapped the books and made a gift for someone in our family. Giving is such an important part of Christmas.

Kayden was our star student today and I must say we sure enjoy you Kayden. You are so much fun in class. You always listen so well and WOW you are doing great on writing your own name all by yourself! Love ya Kayden, thanks for sharing those yummy rice krispy treats.

Ice Cream

Today we were learning about the letter Mm. We learned that Millie Mosquito lives in the Mountains and says mmmmm when she is coming to suck your blood. We also learned that ice cream comes in many different flavors but vanilla is the most popular. Ella was our star student and she brought us little ice cream sandwiches that everyone LOVED. Thank you Ella for sharing and being so sweet in our class. Parents please remember to have your child earn one dollar and bring it to class for our 12 days of Christmas gift we are giving to a needy family.

Polar Bears

Today we learned that polar bears skin is black and their fur looks white but is really clear and when the light shines on the fur it makes it look white. I know it was alot to try to understand. Justin was our star student and he brought us all a yummy cup of ice cream and an ice block. It was fun to see what the ice block did by the end of class. It started to melt and turn back into water. Justin thank you for the yummy ice cream. The kids loved your snack!

Penguins

This month we are focusing on Ice Castles and Peppermints along with our Christmas celebrations. We learned about the letter Ii and how the icky inchworm makes most of us say Ii because they are slimy and icky. Sage brought us all a package of yummy donuts and we had a great time learning how penguins can't fly but they can sure swim, slide and wobble. Thanksgiving Feast!

Today was our Thanksgiving Feast. Each of the kids get to bring one thing for our feast and share with everyone else. I sure love the responsibility they treasure in doing this.Then we come and have a day of games, stories and food. I set up a teepee and we do an indian dance around to get ready for the festivities. Cameron was our star student today and he just loved the "Don't Eat Tom" game we played. I hope everyone had some fun today, I know I sure did. Happy Thanksgiving and remember to think of at least one thing you are thankful for. Good luck with that loose tooth Cameron.

Pecan Pies?

So today we headed to the kitchen to do a little baking. The pies take too long to cook so we made cookies with nuts in them. Landon was our special star student and he said his favorite part of the whole day was when I put flour infront of them and let them draw the letter E and then anything they wanted. You should have seen the look some of the kids gave me it said "really you will let me play in the flour" so cute!

Squirrels like nuts

Today we were learning about how squirrels like to eat nuts. They eat all kinds of nuts to stock up for the winter. The squirrels live in the forest usually and the trees are their homes. We made a fun squirrel book about their houses. Treg was our star student and he shared all kinds of Ee show and tells then he brought Bacon and Eggs for each of us to eat. Mail men and women

We were sitting in class getting ready to start and Landon sat up really tall as he watched Emele go hang up her bag. Then he said "teacher, teacher, in 4 days I am going to marry her!" then he pointed to Emele. "Oh really in just 4 days?" Miss Kristi said. "Yep just 4 days and I am going to marry her" repeated Landon. "Oh so in 4 days you are going to marry Emele?" I just had to make sure we were talking about the same person. "Yep I am going to marry Emele." Landon stated so matter of factly. Have I ever told you how much I love my job? I do, I love the cute things they say and the excitement in their eyes.

Today Emele was our star student. Her mom had to do some serious research to find snacks that started with Q. I know not the easiest but they did it with Chocolate Quakes. All the kids LOVED them and killed off the whole bag in no time. Thanks for sharing your quilt and quiet book. We love your compassionate little heart in our class.

Construction Workers

We are so thankful for construction workers that build our houses,fix them and work on other things that we need. It doesn't matter if it is snowing outside or sunny they are there to get the job done. Thank you to all of you carpenteres that keep our little town working.

Tiny Towns

So it is a new month and we will be learning about our town and what it takes to make it work. We are focusing on 5, squares, Tt,Qq,Ee, and then pecan pie and Thanksgiving. Today we took a vote (since it is election day) and we found that most of the kids in our class wanted to be Doctors. They like the sound of helping people get better when they are sick. We played musical squares and practiced our colors which was amazingly fun. Malyssa was our star student today and she brought Teddy Grahams for the treat. Everyone loved the Teddy Grahams and gobbled them right up. Malyssa had a great time showing all the things she brought that started with the letter T. Malyssa you are so much fun I love the way you listen so intently and your never afraid to mingle when it is appropriate.

Halloween Party

Today we had such a fun time. We took a short walk to the haunted house. The kids could have stayed there all day long just looking around. There is so much to look at I saw things there that I haven't seen before. So then we came back home and made some cute Frankenstein bags for our trick or treating. We came upstairs and had alot of fun practicing our Trick or Treat manners. We practiced saying "trick or treat" at each door then we also practiced saying "thank you" after someone gave us a piece of candy. Thank you parents for sending candy to help make this work. Kayden was our star student and I must say he had such a great show and tell. Kayden and his mom must have spent alot of time finding so much that started with the letter P. Thank you Kayden for sharing and helping us remember the sound the letter P makes. Thank you Deena for the pumpkin cookies and being so involved in Kaydens schooling.

Pumpkin Pie

Today Ella was our Star Student. I must say I enjoyed her show and tell. It seemed like everything she brought to class were things I played with when I was a child. Ella is such a sweetie in class. I must say she is quiet and that is just fine! We love you Ella thanks for sharing those sweet ghost suckers. We also learned taht P stands for popping popcorn. Then Miss Kristi broke out her air popper and we listened to it pop. Then we enjoyed a popcorn treat to remind us of the sound.We have been studying pumpkins and so to end this part of our class we made pumpkin pie. So to be a real chef we need a chef hat, apron, and of course clean hands. Then we went to the kitchen to bake a real pie! Then after we did our classroom work we got to taste that pie. I think there was only one or two kids that didn't enjoy their classmade pie!

Cornbelly's Fieldtrip

We had such a great time on the Cornbelly's fieldtrip. I must say it was 10 times better the second day. The first day everything went wrong, but today with the Super Stars it was excellent. The weather was perfect and the company was amazing.
We even hit the cow-train ride line with only a few people in front of us. Of course all the kids loved the cow-train and Cynthia even went with her little Brinley and had a fun ride. Then we hit the big slides and the kids could have done that all day long. We had to give them some time before we even offered any of the other fun activities to do. After a while we headed over to the corn maze. We all made it through except Mindee she got lost so Ella and I went on a search and rescue attempt to find her mom. Don't worry we found her and she is now safe with her family. Then we went to the pumpkin patch and found the perfect pumpkin. Then we ended the trip with a fun bounce on the big bouncing balloon. Justin was our Star Student and he was so excited to share his yummy halloween cupcakes with everyone. Justin you are a wonderful student who is always eager to learn something new. Thanks for being part of our class.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we learned about pumpkins. They grow on a vine and they start out as a flower, then a green little round thing and then they grow and grow and become big round orange pumpkins. We made our own little pumpkins that all of the kids agreed "DID NOT" look like pumpkins. But that was okay because then we got to go out to Miss Kristi's real pumpkin patch and pick our very own pumpkin! Some chose the biggest and some chose the smallest. It was windy and cold but that is what fall time is all about.Addie was our Star Student today and she brought a picture of her pumpkin and WOW was it big. It weighed 30 pounds which is almost how much she weighs. Thank you for sharing that with us. She also brought some very YUMMY white chocolate dipped nutty cookies as ghosts. What a wonderful snack. Thank you Addie for being so great in our class!

Pet Parade

So today was the last day of our Pet Section in our class. We had a wonderful time spending our classtime with our favorite stuffed pets. It was fun to bring them and show them what we do in class. Then we had a great pet parade for those who could come and watch. We marched around waving and showing off our pets. Then our pets were awarded with a ribbon we made for them in class. Thanks for participating parents it was nice to see everyone there.

Fishy, Fishy

Today we learned about fish as pets. Did you know goldfish don't have to be gold? And did you know they have teeth in their throats to munch the food as they swallow it? We also learned that a goldfish can live for 25 years. There are so many fun things to learn about fish! Gotta love it. Miss Kristi has 4 goldfish and 1 suckerfish that we went to visit and feed.Thank you Landon for being such a wonderful star student and bringing goldfish for everyone to enjoy. I just love that smile that you bring to class with you each day!

Pet Care

Today we learned a lot about our pets and what we do to keep them happy. Most of the kids in our class has one or more kinds of pets and took great pride in telling us all about them. Treg has a dog named Dash and we talked a great deal about owning a dog and the responsibility that comes with it. Then we went and meet Dash and each of the kids got to take turns in training him, walking him, feeding him, and playing fetch with him. And by the end of the day it was the children who didn't want to meet Dash at the first that didn't want to stop playing with him. It was a great way to learn more about our pets.

Our first fieldtrip was perfect. I hope all the kids had a good time, I know I sure did. I want to thank Tonya for coming with us. We just couldn't have done it without you! Fall time walk

Today we learned about the signs of Fall. So we took a walk outside to see what was changing in our world. We noticed some of the flowers were dying, the apples are starting to fall from the apple tree, the pumpkins are big and orange, the carrots are ready to pick, the squash in the garden is yellow and yummy, the leaves are just starting to change colors, and our rabbit is eating lots of food to store up for the wintertime. We also learned about "Andy Apple" he is our friend who taught us what A's say. Ask the kids to tell you the story of Andy Apple. Leaping Lizards

Today we learned that Lizards like to bask in the sun. Until an insect comes along then they LLLLL Leap on to them and eat them. After we learned what Lizards say when they leap we went on a Lizard hunt and we each found a lizard to take home. It was so cute to watch some of the girls not to sure about picking them up. Until they found out they were not live lizards. Gotta Love Preschool!

Addie's Birthday Celebration

Today in class we celebrated Addie's Birthday. Her birthday was just a couple days before school started so I hope this makes up for missing it. Addie, we are so glad you are in our class. Our Super Stars just wouldn't be the same without you. I love your smile and eagerness to share what you are thinking. I love your enthusiasm for life, it seems like you truely love every minute of every day. Thank you for reminding me how we all should love life all the time. I hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration in our class. We also talked about our clothes and how we can dress ourselves. We talked about buttons and how they can be all different sizes and shapes. We also learned the the letter S goes "ssssss" like Sneaky the snake. Kids why don't you tell your moms about Sneaky the snake if you haven't already. Have a nice weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday.

Picture Day

Cameron just turned 5 today. Cameron it is so fun to have you in our preschool class. I think you are such a nice kid with lots to offer our class. Thank you for doing your best in all your school work. I hope you had a wonderful birthday.

Today was a great day as we went over to the ampitheater in AF and took our class photos. We also did individuals for things I need them for in class. Not to mention my uncontainable love of photos. I think they turned out really cute. Grandparent Day

Today we are talking about the grandparents in our lives. Why they are important, why we love them you know all the good stuff. Did you know there is an official Grandparent Day? Yep, there is it is on Sept. 7th just incase you are wondering. So today we spent some time creating special gifts for our grandparents. It seems like grandparents are taking a more important role in our childrens lives. This is important to me because our kids have so much more to deal with. The more backup they have the better in my opinion. It was a great way to start a new school year. A fun way to hear and learn about each other and our families. So here is a cheer for all those wonderful grandparents out there.

Today was also the day we celebrated Landon's birthday. We all had fun singing happy birthday to him and making sure he felt real special. I am so glad you are in our class we just love you to pieces and I'm excited to really get to know you. Happy Birthday Landon!

First day of Preschool!

Yahoo! We just had our first day at preschool and I just have to say. I think these 10 SuperStars are going to be some of my new best friends. I am so excited to get to know each of you better. I had so much fun watching your cute little personalities today. Thank you for coming and I am sure we will have so many fun memories by the end of the year.

Moms if you ever take a really cute photo of our preschool and would like to share it for the blog or yearbook or Class DVD. Then please e-mail them to me. I love photos and sometimes it is hard for me to capture some moments while I am teaching. Although I have to say I do pause the class quite often for a snapshot here and there. Info for first day of School

So if any of you are checking this blog. I just wanted to tell you, your welcome to park in my driveway. Both in front of the garage and shed. Or you can park out on the 700 N. road as well. I would like everyone to just come upstairs and then we will introduce all the children to the preschool room together. Please try to be on time. We have a lot to go over and do. I don't know for sure how long it will take but I would rather be short rather then over or not complete all our items.

Thanks again for letting me be your childs teacher. I will be doing my best, and I am always open to suggestions and new ideas. That is what continues to make a preschool better. Hope to see you all Tuesday at 10:00am.

Mom & Me Day - Sept 2nd

On the first day of class we are going to have a special Mom and Me day at school. If at all possible please find a babysitter for younger children. We are going to be doing many projects and the children will need your full attention. We will also be going over the expectations I will have for the parents of this class.
